DKMS increase support and engagement during their Princess to Queen campaign

DKMS partners with Good Thyngs to leverage a heart-felt fundraising campaign in time for the Platinum Jubilee

DKMS are encouraging donors to give more children with blood cancer the chance to grow up, by donating to the stem cell charity. Posters featuring two little girls that received successful transplants will be displayed across London Underground and on social media. This campaign is specifically linking with the upcoming Jubilee celebrations by highlighting ‘Your donation could help more princesses grow up to be queens’.

The partnership with Good Thyngs allows us to customise the payment pages, making sure they’re in keeping with the campaign’s look and feel, and tracking all donations. This is something we couldn’t achieve using our own website alone.

We have also used the platform to generate QR codes for some of the marketing materials. It’s great to see how many people are not just donating, but interacting with the QR codes, allowing us to track engagement levels on the platform.

The experience also gives supporters the option to take a selfie with a crown filter, in line with our campaign. The selfie filter is helping us leverage our messaging further, and photos shared on social media will be good for awareness and engagement purposes.

The in-depth information provided about not only who/how much is being donated, but about every single interaction with a QR code, helps us to target our marketing most efficiently. We can also track the most popular donation amount, and route through to donation, further enhancing the insight provided.

Our team have been very surprised about how easy it is to create a QR code for anything we’d like to – and create different ones for different materials. It’s much easier than most people think.

My advice to charities would be to use all the insight and data you can to inform and improve your next campaign – with Good Thyngs you can see exactly what is engaging people, and if those people go onto donate. The live Dashboards help you make quick and accurate analyses of your campaign so that you can tweak them going forward (or even in the midst of a campaign).
